Dayseeker anuncia novo álbum creature in the black night

A banda Dayseeker, da Califórnia do Sul — formada por Rory Rodriguez (vocais), Gino Sgambelluri (guitarra), Ramone Valerio (baixo) e Zac Mayfield (bateria) — acaba de anunciar seu novo álbum, Creature In The Black Night.

Produzido por Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Silent Planet) e mixado por Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, Lorna Shore), o disco é o trabalho mais imersivo e intencional do Dayseeker até agora — sombrio, cinematográfico e carregado de uma corrente emocional obscura (e sexy).

Creature In The Black Night chega em 24 de outubro pela Spinefarm.

Hoje, a banda também divulgou o clipe da faixa-título.

A música é um hino melancólico e etéreo — tudo o que os fãs já conhecem e amam no som do Dayseeker: vocais dramáticos e hipnotizantes, o falsete inconfundível de Rodriguez, tensão sonora que cresce e explode, e melodias belíssimas que coexistem com breakdowns pesados de estremecer o chão.

“‘Creature In The Black Night’ é a parte mais sombria da sua consciência dominando você”, conta Rodriguez sobre a música. “É sobre aquela adrenalina viciante que você não consegue ignorar.”

O single sucede Pale Moonlight, lançado em abril, que já acumula 10 milhões de streams.

Apesar de não ser um álbum conceitual no sentido tradicional, Creature In The Black Night apresenta uma forte coesão temática — da identidade visual sombria, passando pela iconografia do Ceifador e uma atmosfera carregada, até o jeito que as músicas se desenrolam como capítulos. “Tem uma pegada inspirada em terror que surgiu logo no início”, explica Rodriguez. “Não foi planejado. Mas quando começou a aparecer nas músicas, nós abraçamos isso.”

Quem espera apenas uma imersão melancólica pode se surpreender — o álbum tem riffs mais pesados, arestas afiadas e uma clareza renovada. “Havia essa ideia de que ficaríamos cada vez mais comerciais com o tempo”, diz Rodriguez. “Mas acho que aconteceu o oposto — estamos usando mais riffs, estou gritando mais. E isso é bom. É honesto.”

O Dayseeker não apenas evoluiu — eles ascenderam.
